If you are receiving this blog entry, it is because you have recently made a donation to the Girl2B Foundation or have expressed a desire to learn more about our work.
10 days prior to my birthday, which was august 3rd, I challenged myself to reach out to my friends and co-workers and “crowdrise” for our girls. Â My goal was $4200….. Would I be able to find 100 people to donate $42? Â I really had no idea.
By midnight on my birthday, I made it to 100% of my goal and by today I am over 160%!
It is unbelievable how generous everyone has been, and how important “crowd-rising” is today. Â I sometimes have to look at the computer screen and blink my eyes to see if I am reading the numbers correctly.
As August comes to a close, IÂ have decided to send out one last email to thank everyone once again, and invite you to view a new video that Alfonso just posted for me. Â It is a video of the girls celebrating my birthday in Kolkata, which ultimately touched my heart and inspired me to reach out to all of you.
Each day Alfonso and I learn something new from the girls in our program, and for that we are so grateful!
